Squeaky Wheels the Rationale

Team Squeaky Wheels came together by accident following a drunken conversation about the possibility of riding from Lands End to John O'Groats. The result was the accumulation of a quarter of a millenniums worth of accumulated wit and (arguably) wisdom in the guise of Jeff, Tim, Don and Michael. To give us all an incentive to accomplish this route we decided to make the journey a sponsored ride for McMillan Cancer Support, and run this Blog for our friends and supporters. Hopefully we will provide daily reports of our progress and events during the ride. These may become more terse as exhaustion and saddle sores kick in. So watch this space.

Coming down slowly

After the elation and celebration of our successfully accomplishing the trip, comes the slow return to reality. The coach journey to Edinburgh came down the east coast, which thank heaven, we didn't have to cycle. The hills were horrendous, but the coastal views were great. Safely delivered to Edinburgh, after a no.or linguistic difficulty, involving the difference between "bikes" and "bags" we settled into our hotel, and a good meal. Food no longer regarded as fuel. This morning the mournful duty of packing the bikes and going home. The blog will remain open for some time to allow all the team members to reflect on the trip, and add any pictures, compromising or otherwise, that they choose. So fans, and followers stay tuned.

  1. Very well done the four of you :)

We've got a "How To" project, which is evolving, with section on doing sponsored rides in general, and on LEJOG specifically. If you've got any suggestions, please input - need to create an account first.
