After a very hard ride to Exeter, we rested and tried to recover for rhe third day. To prove that we did make Exeter we attach the Photograph. The ride fromExeter to Cheddar took us across the Somerset levels, whcih were stunning with yellow irises lining the river banks and drainage ditches. The weather held off for most of the day, but a couple of hours rain lowered spirits for the last 8 miles. Despite this the relatively flat and fast rde helped erase the trials of the Dratmoor stretch.
Squeaky Wheels the Rationale
Team Squeaky Wheels came together by accident following a drunken conversation about the possibility of riding from Lands End to John O'Groats. The result was the accumulation of a quarter of a millenniums worth of accumulated wit and (arguably) wisdom in the guise of Jeff, Tim, Don and Michael. To give us all an incentive to accomplish this route we decided to make the journey a sponsored ride for McMillan Cancer Support, and run this Blog for our friends and supporters. Hopefully we will provide daily reports of our progress and events during the ride. These may become more terse as exhaustion and saddle sores kick in. So watch this space.
Well done SW! But how do we really know you're in Exeter in the photo - you could be just grinning broadly outside any local pub. Great legs by the way - not to mention the lycra! Lots Jen xox
ReplyDeleteWell done to you all so far. We didn't like to tell you the whole truth about Dartmoor at Tavistock or it might have been a very short ride!! At least when it rained it was down in Somerset, not sunny Devon.Keep on going with the limericks - you can publish when you have recovered.

Good on you all. Keep those legs turning - think of hamsters in a wheel - squeaky or not! Like the eyewear - very cool. Disguises the red mist I've no doubt.
