Squeaky Wheels the Rationale
Team Squeaky Wheels came together by accident following a drunken conversation about the possibility of riding from Lands End to John O'Groats. The result was the accumulation of a quarter of a millenniums worth of accumulated wit and (arguably) wisdom in the guise of Jeff, Tim, Don and Michael. To give us all an incentive to accomplish this route we decided to make the journey a sponsored ride for McMillan Cancer Support, and run this Blog for our friends and supporters. Hopefully we will provide daily reports of our progress and events during the ride. These may become more terse as exhaustion and saddle sores kick in. So watch this space.

Squeaky Wheels in Training
It seemed a good idea, given the venerable age of team Squeaky Wheels, that we should accustom ourselves to the time we would have to spend in the saddle. So team Squeaky Wheels, or some of them, have diligently trained throughout the terrible Winter and warm Spring of the UK. Braving ice, cold, torrential rain, heat, wind and traffic they have covered the miles and soared over the mountainous terrain surrounding Oxford. In Mike's case, based in Switzerland, he has literally been training on heavy climbing. The horrors and difficulties of the pre-ride training are captured in the photo montage, in which the pain is obvious.

Wow, you guys really had a hard training. But I'm pretty sure that it will bear you good results.
